Wildlife Safari Walk in Kenya are undertaken to give you an optimal experience – walking when it's cool  and refreshing, and relaxing when it's hot and sunny. Walking Wildlife Tours are not mutually exclusive, a photographic safari does rule out the opportunity to do some walking or any other activity and vice versa. A combination is perfect for those who enjoy walking but also want the best wildlife photographic opportunities.

Day 1: Nairobi
Arrival at the airport at and transfer to the Hotel in Nairobi.

Day 2: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, leave Nairobi via rim the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at the Lake Naivasha Country Club in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the Crescent Island, which is a peninsula on the Eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. There is a lot of easy to see game e.g. giraffes, waterbucks, elands, zebras and impalas. Lake Naivasaha has many species of birds recorded. It is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus.A boat trip on the lake is widely available, and is a great way to spend an afternoon.

Sunsets are always stunning, with the haunting call of a Fish Eagle high over the Lake bringing the day to a perfect end…
Return to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Hell’s Gate National Park.
After breakfast you will escorted to the gate of Hell's gate National park on bike if you so wish. Hell’s Gate National Park lies to the south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, North West of Nairobi.  The park which is mainly comprised of savannah ecosystem harbors a wide variety of wildlife. There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux’s Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope and Chanler’s mountain reedbuck.

The last part of the walk is done in the Hell’s Gate Gorge by descending into a steep canyon with running water from geysers and wild vegetation. The climax of the day is in walking in the Side Gorge where the rocks have split to leave only a walking path.

Pleasant interruptions on the walks will be from giraffes, black and white Colobus monkeys, aardvarks, leopards and a range of gazelles, all which are easily found in the sanctuary.

Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge

Day 5: Naivasha- Lake Elementaita.
After breakgfast, check out  and depart  to Lake Elementaita, which though doesn't  have the big name like Lake Nakuru, its scenic beauty is unmatched. After settling in the nice cottages we will start our walk up to the shores of the alkaline lake. From there we proceed up to the hot springs and into the Horseshoe Crater. We walk mainly in open savannah land and occasionally we will stop for a chat with a Masai herdsman. This gives the opportunity to have a closer view of the herbivores grazing on the open field. The gentle sloping hills give a good panorama.

Trekking in Nepal

Original article from AmoyTrip--Let's make travel easy!

If you have the time and energy to trek, don’t miss the opportunity to leave Kathmandu and see the spectacular beauty and the unique culture of Nepal. Trekking in Nepal will take you through a country that has captured the imagination of mountaineers and explorers for more than 100 years. You will meet people in remote mountain villages whose lifestyle has not changed in generations. Annually, more than 200,000 tourists come here to trek. You will experience superb panoramic views of mountains, a diversity of landscape, flora and fauna, colorful cultures, friendly people and ancient history.

Trekking Nepal

Trekking Nepal

On beaten trails or virgin tracks, Nepal is a trekker’s paradise. Trekking is a wonderful way to explore and make meaningful contact with the country. On average, trekking consists of walking daily 5 to 7 hours, 9 to 14 kilometres on a series of ascents and descents. The immense contrasts in altitude and climates found here, support an equally spectacular mix of lifestyle and wildlife.

You can choose between individual trekking and group trekking. When trekking independently with just a guide for company you are often able to reach more remote parts that are unequipped to deal with large numbers.

You can also choose between “Tea House Trekking” and “Camping Trekking”.

Tea House Trekking
You stop each night to eat and sleep at a local tea house. Meals depend on the menu at the tea house, usually the simple basic meals of the local people, although there are sometimes other restaurants around. Although many tea houses and hotels in the hills and mountains are reasonably comfortable, standards can vary. The benefit of tea house trekking is that you will always have a warm and reasonably comfortable place to sleep and more importantly you will meet and experience the real life of the rural people.

Camping Trekking
All the trekking gear – sleeping tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, kitchen tents, cooking gear and toilet tents – are provided, along with all necessary support staff. All land transportation, local permits, taxes, porter insurance, port dues, and entrance fees to National Parks or sites constituting an integral part of the trip are arranged. Depending on the area, provisions are based either on fresh local food or a combination of local and imported ingredients.

The Attractions of Integrated Casino Resort

Original article from AmoyTrip--Let's make travel easy!

Casino Gambling

Casino Gambling

For the past years, casino hotels have been rising around the world because it is a profitable  business that nobody want to miss. As more casino hotel resorts  are built with latest attractions,  the older casino hotels are gradually losing their glory and may have difficulties of maintaining  good profits in return.  The building of new casino hotel resorts which integrated the business of both gambling and non-gambling,  can create  a balance  revenue and boost the earnings of these companies.   For Singapore alone, the  two integrated casino hotel  resorts have  collected  a revenue of  US$5.9billion  in a year, which is nearly the same as the revenue of Las Vegas casino hotels.  With the influx of foreign tourists in large numbers especially  from China well-off families who have passion for gambling  and travel, many Asian governments such as Taiwan and Japan, are now planning to legalize gambling. Some countries are the riding on this trend to  open new integrated casino hotel resorts, such as Vietnam and Korea, to increase the government revenue through taxes,  to uplift their country GDP and also improve their tourism income.

Marina Bay Casino Resort

Most  casino hotel resorts have their own selling point such as Macau MGM Butterfly Pavilion where  you can interact with live butterflies while having a meal or beverage,  or  Macau Venetian Macau Resort  Hotel has a beautiful venetian style Grand Canal Shoppes. They are focusing on staying in comfort, playing in style and delicious dining choices -  providing the usual live show entertainments, fine dining restaurants, branded goods shopping,  5-star luxury hotel accommodations, bars and clubs.  As revenue of gambling business is unstable due to various reasons, the new integrated casino hotel resorts  are unique in providing additional non-gambling activities for the whole family and the tourists to balance their income.

Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore have  a ArtScience Museum and a borderless 150 metres swimming pool at thier 57 level hotel rooftop where you can view the city scenary while swimming or relaxing at the pool. For any non- hotel guests, they have to pay a S$20 fee to view the scenary or they can watch the water actvities at the bayfront for free.  Singapore Resorts World Sentosa has built a Universal Studio Park, Marine Life Park, world largest Aquarium in their resorts for the whole family to participate.  The hotel guests can choose from different hotel themes they prefer  to stay, for example  Hard Rock Hotel for younger tourists, Treetop Lofts for nature lovers, Ocean Suites for marine life lovers , Beach Villas for tropical retreats . Recently, Genting Resort World  Malaysia, an older integrated casino hotel resort, has invested more resources to refurbish their hotels and rebuild  their  theme park so as to enhance their  future income.

Chinese Zhusuan Listed as World Intangible Cultural Heritage

Original article from AmoyTrip--Let's make travel easy!

Chinese Abacus

Chinese Abacus

Zhusuan (in Chinese 珠算), the Chinese traditional method of calculation using the abacus, has just been listed as one of the world intangible cultural heritage during UNESCO's 8th intergovernmental Council in Azerbaijan.

The abacus, called Suanpan(算盘) in Chinese  is considered  the ancestor of the modern computer with  a history of more than 1,800 years old. Most of the  Chinese people born  before 1960s  are quite familiar with the abacus ,as they always use the abacus for calculating in their daily life . However, with the development of computer, the abacus is disappearing in Chinese daily life gradually and  now young Chinese even do not what the abacus is.

The abacus is rectangular with wooden frame on the four sides and small rods fixed inside, each one representing one digit. The rods are strung with wooden beads, and a girder across the middle separates the abacus into two parts: the upper part, in which each rod has two beads, each representing the number "five"; and the lower part, in which each rod has five beads, each representing the number "one".

Check this post to know more about Chinese Abacus and Abacus Calculation

After meditating for around 49 hours under a Bodhi tree (Ficusreligiosa), he got the insight for the answers that he had been seeking for. It is believed that after around 250 years, Emperor Ashoka established the Mahabodhi temple there. Now Bodh Gaya has been developed as a major pilgrimage site and attracts large number of pilgrims each year.

Vologda has been classified by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation as a historical city, one of the forty-one in Russia and one of only three in Vologda Oblast. 224 buildings in Vologda have been officially recognized as cultural heritage monuments. Vologda is one of the best- preserved big cities of Russia combining traditional wooden architecture and stone monuments. In Vologda, 193 monuments of architecture and history are designated as cultural monuments of federal significance. The most known of them are: Vologda Kremlin (Bishop’s court-yard), Saint Sophia cathedral, Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery, ensemble of the Vladimir churches, Konstantin and Elena church, St. John the Baptist Church in Roshcheniye with its frescoes, Dmitry Prilutsky church, architectural ensembles of the Stone bridge and of the Revolyutsii Square.

 Day 4. Archangelsk

Next stop is the city in the North – Archangelsk – formerly known as Archangel in English, a city and the administrative centre of Archangelsk Oblast, Russia. It lies on both banks of the Northern Dvina River near its exit into the White Sea in the north of European Russia. The city spreads for over 40 kilometres (25 mi) along the banks of the river and numerous islands of its delta. Archangelsk was the chief seaport of medieval Russia, until 1703. After the city tour in Archangelsk you will be brought to the Open Air Museum of the Wooden Architecture Malyie Korely (approximately 30 minutes by bus).

This museum basically is the largest collection of ancient wooden architecture in Russia. Marvelous houses and churches date back as far as to 16th century. They were carefully selected across the vast Arkhangelsk region and moved to the museum, placed in clusters representing the traditional setups of various districts of the province. Thanks to the reasonably large territory of the museum and diverse landscapes, there was a lucky opportunity to place most of the buildings in the

scenery which suited it best to resemble the authentic location. Such clusters, or ensembles, illustrate vividly how smart were our ancestors in adapting to diverse climates and landscapes. More to that, many of the buildings house rather interesting exhibitions of local folk art and ancient household, while the administration of the museum makes an effort to revive the old traditions and demonstrate them to the public. They even grow rye and oath at the site, making flour at an old windmill and baking bread just as peasants were doing hundreds years ago. Sophisticated art of ringing the church bells is also well alive, impressing not only foreigners, but the locals as well.

 Days 5 – 6. Solovki Islands

After the night in the train you will arrive to Kem – a small town from where you will make a short cruise to Solovetski Islands. Solovetski Islands, archipelago, c.150 sq mi (390 sq km), N European Russia, in the White Sea at the entrance of Onega Bay. A monastery, built in the first half of the 15th cent., is on the largest island. It was used as a military fortress against Sweden in the 16th and 17th cent., and the early settlement and economic development of the Karelo – Murmansk area was from there. From the reign of Ivan IV until 1956 the islands were a dreaded place of exile for criminals and for political and religious prisoners; during Soviet rule, some 40,000 prisoners died (1923–39) there. Solovetski forced-labor

camps produced lumber, peat, and building stone. The islands were declared a natural and historical preserve in 1974. You will spend an overnight at the local hotel and enjoy your time on the world famous Islands.

 Day 7. Murmansk

After arrival to Murmansk you will start a familiarization with the city during the city tour. Murmansk serves as a seaport and is located in the extreme northwest part of Russia, on the Kola Bay, 12 kilometers  (7.5 mi) from the Barents Sea on the northern shore of the Kola Peninsula, not far from Russia’s borders with Norway and Finland. Despite its rapidly declining population, Murmansk remains the largest city north of the Arctic Circle. Murmansk was the last city founded in the

Russian Empire. During the Cold War Murmansk was a center of Soviet submarine and icebreaker activity and, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the nearby city and naval base of Severomorsk remains the headquarters of the Russian Northern Fleet. You will have the opportunity to visit unique place Saami village “Sam’ Syit”.

The ethnographic complex is located in the Lovozero district and is a recreated village Saami. Here you can plunge into the world of the Saami culture and feel the flavor of Lovozero tundra. You can get acquainted with the customs and traditions of

the Lapps, see and feed the deer, ride in a reindeer harness, show strength and dexterity in Saami games. On the territory of the complex there are the real plague where you will be offered hot lunch with national Saami dishes.

Day 8-9. Petrozavodsk

On September 11, 1703, Prince Mention founded the settlement of Petrovskaya Sloboda (“Petrine Slobodan”). He did so at the behest of Tsar Peter the Great, who needed a new iron foundry to manufacture cannons and anchors for the Baltic Fleet at the time of the Great Northern War (1700–1721). At first the foundry used the name Shuysky zavod (literally, “factory at the Shuya River”), but a decade later it became Petrovsky zavod (“Petrine factory”), after the name of the reigning monarch. From this form the present name of the city derives. Petrozavodsk is famous now as a capital of Karelia region. The city is distinguished among other towns of North Russia by its Neoclassical architectural heritage, which includes the Round Square (1775, reconstructed in 1789 and 1839) and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (consecrated in 1832). Among the town’s landmarks are the outdoor statues of Peter I (bronze and granite, Ippolit Monighetti, 1873), Gavrila Derzhavin (a Russian poet who was the governor of Olonets in the 18th century), and Alexander Nevsky (erected outside Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in 2010).

The city has a fine frontage on the Gulf of Petrozavodsk. The modern embankment, inaugurated in 1994, displays an assortment of Karelian granites and marbles. It is lined with extravagant postmodernist sculptures presented by sister cities of Petrozavodsk from around the world. There is also a birch copse, where the first church of Petrozavodsk was built in 1703.

Days 10 –12 St. Petersburg.

Your timeless journey ends in the great city of St. Petersburg. You will be accommodated at 4* hotel and enjoy the wondrous sights of this historic, yet modern city. This magnificent city, created by Peter the Great, is one of the loveliest and most interesting in the world.During the city tour you will see Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square and Winter Palace, Spit of the Vassilievsky Island, University Embankment, Main Building of the State St.Petersburg University, Admiralty, Senat Square, Monument to Peter the Great (Bronze Horseman), St.Isaak’s Cathedral and St.Isaak’s Square, Field of Mars and Summer Gardens, Cruiser Aurora, Smolny Cathedral.
