New Schedule for the Palace Museum Next Year

Travellers who would like to visit forbidden city in Beijing should pay attention to this news. The Gugong Palace Museum will implement a new schedule from 1st January next year. It is confirmed that the palace museum will be closed whole day for maintenance on Monday each week, Except for the public holidays and summer vacation from 1st July to 31st August.
According to the current schedule, the Gugong palace museum is only closed at the afternoon on Monday. The palace museum is out of maintenance under the weight of too many tourists,as thousand s of visitors rush into this historical site everyday.
The palace museum has been being under a massive repairing project since 2012. Closing on Monday each week from next year will give the workers more time to maintain the historical architecture, cultural relics in the palace museum.
The palace museum in Beijing, also well known as Forbidden City, is the place for living and activities by emperors in the ancient China from Ming dynasty. This colossal city consists of 999 rooms and holds thousands of precious relics,including paintings, work of calligraphy,potteries and porcelains, jade, sculptures and so on . Visitors can spend one or two days in the museum without getting any boring if they like to explore every corner of the forbidden city.
